Wesley Ward's absence in Britain this season will continue after the trainer's plan to bring highly regarded two-year-old Schwarzenegger to York's Ebor festival was scuppered.

The $950,000 colt had been compared with his best by the trainer, who has produced sprinting sensations such as Golden Pal, Lady Aurelia and No Nay Never. However, he was scratched from his intended debut at Saratoga on Sunday after heavy rain forced the two-year-old maiden to be switched from turf to dirt to preserve the turf track for the day's Graded race.

Ward insists Schwarzenegger is much better on turf but is unable to find another suitable starting point for two weeks, leading to a tight turnaround from his debut in the US to the Group 2 Al Basti Equiworld Dubai Gimcrack Stakes on August 22.
