Ladbrokes say end of deal will be race's loss

Saturday's St Leger looks set to be the 12th and final running of the Classic under the Ladbrokes banner, with the firm's director of public relations Mike Dillon saying on Monday he thought their departure would be the race's loss.

With the stand-off between the firm and racing continuing over the authorised betting partner policy, Dillon said Ladbrokes' relationship with the race was set to end when the horses passed the post at Doncaster this weekend.

Asked what the latest on the sponsorship was, Dillon said: "There isn't any latest I'm saddened to say. There has been no movement.
