Meade: we're hoping for a good show from Disko

Grade 1 Growise Champion Novice Chase | 3m½f | 5yo+ | RTE2/ATR
It was at this track where Disko revealed himself to be a top-notch chasing prospect when he posted an impressive debut performance over fences in October, and here the Noel Meade-trained talented grey bids to sign off the campaign with his second Grade 1 success of the season.
The six-year-old was brilliant from the front when he was just under two lengths too good for subsequent Irish Grand National winner Our Duke over two miles five and a half furlongs in the Grade 1 Flogas Novice Chase at Leopardstown in February.
Disko, owned by Gigginstown House Stud, then went on to run a creditable race behind Yorkhill in the JLT Novices' Chase at Cheltenham when third, while three other cap silks will be needed for Gigginstown’s supporting army with Disko’s stablemate A Genie In Abottle will be wearing cheekpieces for the first time.
A Toi Phil represents Gordon Elliott, while Alpha Des Obeaux, who finished fourth in the RSA Chase before running eighth in the Irish Grand National, takes his chance for Mouse Morris.
Acapella Bourgeois produced one of the most impressive performances of the season when slamming Road To Respect by 32 lengths at Navan in February. That performance was recorded on his favoured softer going and he subsequently finished sixth in the RSA on better ground.
The Tony Martin-trained Anibale Fly is another who has shown the odd flash of brilliance and comes here fresh with connections deciding to give him a break after he was comprehensively beaten by Acapella Bourgeois two months ago. Velocity Boy completes the field.
Gigginstown target
No owners have had more success in this contest recently than Gigginstown House Stud, who have supplied three of the past six winners.
What they say
Noel Meade, trainer of A Genie In Abottle and Disko
Disko is in good order and seems to like nice ground so we're hoping for a good show. This is the last sensible option for A Genie In Abottle before the season is out and he takes his chance. We're putting cheekpieces on him as he can race a little lazily.
Gordon Elliott, trainer of A Toi Phil
It looks a hot race but he's done little wrong this season and we're hoping he'll be there or thereabouts.
Tony Martin, trainer of Anibale Fly
I'm very happy with him and he comes here a very fresh horse as he had a nice break after he was fourth at Navan behind Acapella Bourgeois back in February. I have no worries about the good to yielding ground and hope he can run well.
William Murphy, trainer of Velocity Boy
It will be a big ask but this will be his last run of the season and it was the only suitable race for him to run in. We're hopeful he can land a bit of place money.
