Aidan O’Brien could deliver a mighty blow to bookmakers this weekend should his hotpots, Churchill and Rhododendron, claim the Qipco-sponsored 2,000 Guineas and 1,000 Guineas at Newmarket.

This is likely to be a popular big-race double with punters, and will pay around 13-2 with most bookmakers. O’Brien last achieved a Newmarket Classic whitewash in 2012 with strongly fancied Camelot (15-8) taking the 2,000 Guineas and outsider Homecoming Queen (25-1) the 1,000.

O’Brien has won ten Newmarket Guineas – the 2,000 seven times and 1,000 three – and since 2010 he's had 27 winners in Group 1s restricted to three-year-olds run in Britain, Ireland and France – more than any other trainer has managed.
