Smart: Nunthorpe winner Alpha Delphini can outrun 20-1 quote in Abbaye

Bookmakers could be eating humble pie in Paris on Sunday as they continue to overlook Nunthorpe winner Alpha Delphini, making him 20-1 for Sunday's Prix de l'Abbaye de Longchamp Longines.

That's the hope of trainer Bryan Smart as he aims to win the Group 1 sprint with the half-brother to his 2011 winner Tangerine Trees.

The Hambleton trainer is bemused by the betting which sees his Nunthorpe victims Mabs Cross, a best-priced 8-1, and Battaash, fourth in the Nunthorpe and a general 11-8 favourite.
