The extraordinary Miss Amulet has enjoyed a rags-to-riches season and the £7,500 yearling bargain buy now faces her toughest test in the $1 million Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf, bidding to make history as the first Irish-trained winner of the race.

The Ken Condon-trained daughter of Sir Prancealot posted Racing Post Ratings of 58 and 66 on her first two starts in June but looked a different filly entirely when bolting up in an auction maiden at Cork. The phenomenal improver hasn't looked back since.

There was no fluke about her Listed win in the Marwell Stakes, backing that up with an extremely game display to land the Group 2 Lowther Stakes at York, and she later changed hands privately to run in the colours of Doreen Tabor. The star two-year-old was last seen when a battling second in the Group 1 Cheveley Park Stakes.

Miss Amulet runs over further than 6f for the first time and Condon said: "It's been a great story all through the season, she's exceeded our expectations and continued to progress.

"She ran a big race last time and finished strongly. We all know there's a doubt about her staying a mile but the feeling is she'd get seven furlongs at home, so there has to be a chance she gets a mile over there."

The Aidan O'Brien-trained Mother Earth and Snowfall were at the centre of a dramatic Fillies' Mile mix-up last time but will bid to create headlines of a different variety here, albeit Snowfall is the second reserve.

"We think the mile around the bend at Keeneland will suit Mother Earth well and she's come out of the Fillies' Mile in good form," said O'Brien.

"If Snowfall gets in we think the fast ground will suit her well and we've always thought she's better than her runs suggest."

Roger Varian, second in this race 12 months ago with Daahyeh, hopes to go one better with Rockfel second Nazuna, while Jessica Harrington runs Moyglare third Oodnadatta.

Unbeaten Aunt Pearl looks home team's standout

Aunt Pearl smashed the Stakes record time by more than a second when winning the Grade 2 Jessamine Stakes at this track last time, taking her unbeaten record to two starts, and looks the home team's leading contender.

However, there must be some concern that she has never been headed and could face pace pressure here from the Wesley Ward-trained Campanelle and Royal Approval.

Campanelle won the Queen Mary Stakes at Royal Ascot before a two-length success over Nando Parrado in the Prix Morny, but has to prove her stamina over a mile.

Plum Ali, also unbeaten in three starts, looks pretty versatile and should be bang there for Christophe Clement, while the Graham Motion-trained Alda could hit the frame at a big price after shaping well last time when not getting the clearest of runs in a Woodbine Grade 1.

What they say

Kate Harrington, assistant to Jessica Harrington, trainer of Oodnadatta
She won well on debut before we were a bit disappointed with her in the Silver Flash Stakes, but she got a bit upset in the stalls that day and we've thankfully been able to iron that out. We were thrilled with her run in the Moyglare and she should improve nicely for that.

Brad Cox, trainer of Aunt Pearl
She’s been good from day one. She was an expensive yearling at Tattersalls last year and showed she had ability from the start. She’s a very fast filly.

Wesley Ward, trainer of Campanelle and Royal Approval
Campanelle’s got a lot of class. She has this big, long stride and is a big filly, so I think the mile will be fine. We almost ran her again after the Morny, but it was a little close from race to race and I had tried that before with Lady Aurelia and it didn’t work out. Hopefully the ground continues to dry for Royal Approval.

Roger Hogan, assistant to Christophe Clement, trainer of Plum Ali
She feels fabulous and there's no reason to think she won’t run well. Whether it’s good enough, we’ll find out. Right from day one, everything she did she did with ease and did it in such an uncomplicated fashion.

Graham Motion, trainer of Alda
I thought she bounced a little bit in the Natalma. She ran a huge race the time before. That run has given her more time to freshen up for this.

Chad Brown, trainer of Editor At Large
She’s really stepped forward recently, has been training super and worth a shot at this. Javier [Castellano] is going to have to work out a trip from stall 14 though.

Simon Callaghan, trainer of Madone
Stall nine is a perfect draw for her because she comes from off the pace. We've always really liked her. She was a little green on debut but still won and then made the natural progression to Stakes company at Del Mar and Santa Anita.

Mark Casse, trainer of Spanish Loveaffair
Her training on dirt leaves a little to be desired but the way she broke her maiden, I thought she could be something special. We could have had a little better draw but we’ll take it.
