Andrew Gemmell says it would be a night to remember if he were to be successful with Discorama or De Rasher Counter in Saturday’s Randox Grand National and has high hopes his runners will be in the mix.

The start of a potentially memorable week for the owner comes on Wednesday when star Flat stayer Trueshan, owned by the Singula Partnership in which Gemmell is involved, returns in the Further Flight Stakes at Nottingham.

Attention will then turn to Aintree, one year on from Discorama being a first runner in the National for Gemmell when a highly creditable seventh. The Paul Nolan-trained nine-year-old returns off a 1lb lower mark and is a general 33-1 shot – a price Gemmell, who owns Discorama with Thomas Friel, was more than happy to take.
