Nicky Henderson has his fingers crossed that a gallant runner-up effort in the Gold Cup will not have taken the shine of Jango Baie when he lines up as hot favourite for the Racing Welfare Bowl Chase (2.55) on Thursday.

The seven-year-old finished eight lengths behind Gaelic Warrior at Cheltenham and Henderson hopes there is plenty left in the tank after he was installed as 4-5 favourite following declarations on Tuesday.

Henderson said: "It's very hard to tell how those horses are who are coming out of Cheltenham, they're not machines. He had a hard race at Cheltenham in the Gold Cup, the only one who had an easy race all week maybe was the winner!
