Gordon Elliott pondering step up in trip for star mares at Aintree and also reveals Irish Grand National plans

Gordon Elliott is toying with the idea of stepping up either Brighterdaysahead or Wodhooh to three miles and half a furlong for the Liverpool Hurdle at Aintree next month. 

The trainer is keen to keep his two star mares apart at the Grand National meeting, which starts on April 9,  and doesn't think stamina will be an issue for either. 

The prolific Wodhooh made it ten wins from 11 starts over hurdles when justifying odds-on favouritism in the Mares' Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival, knuckling down in trademark fashion after the last to repel the late challenge of Jade De Grugy by a length.
