When you win a race like the Qatar King George Stakes, at a meeting as prestigious as Glorious Goodwood, the financial reward is only part of the pleasure derived. Yet what a financial reward the connections of Take Cover yesterday scooped.

In 2014, when the now nine-year-old landed the Group 2 dash in its days under another sponsorship, the first prize was £56,710.
