Could there be something that protects the ultimate drag race from shocks in similar sprints?

Given the way the big sprints have gone this summer, you might want to start a look at the King George Qatar Stakes by turning the market upside down.

Even without being swayed by recent results, you might consider this race's reputation as the fastest Group race on the British calendar. The course record and Racing Post standard time over five furlongs at Goodwood is quicker than other tracks that host open-age Group 2s and Group 1s over the distance. 

You would have more restraint than me if you've never backed a borderline short-runner in the race, with loads to find on form, just because 'it's Goodwood'. For those of us who have been tempted, recent results are not our friend.
