The Friday of Glorious Goodwood produced the worst set of results on the Flat for Coral in several years, the leading bookmaker revealed on Sunday.

Fourteen of the 35 races at the meeting were won by favourites, five of them on the penultimate day.

The firm’s four biggest betting races of the meeting were all won by favourites, with success for Franklin D at 7-4 in Friday’s Betfred Mile the heaviest blow.
