Davy Russell boosts reputation as preview king with Percy proving hot topic

Tis the season. A blast of Cheltenham preview evenings may not be to everybody's taste but the packed ballroom at Kettle's Country House in Swords on Wednesday evening proved there's still a major appetite for something people thought would fizzle out of fashion many moons ago.

Sometimes these evenings have trouble taking flight but, in his role as master of ceremonies, Denis Kirwan set an honest gallop – helped in no small part by the yarns shared by RTE football pundit Eamon Dunphy, who reveals his main goal for the evening is to get fellow panellist Davy Russell’s phone number in an effort to improve his punting.
