This straightforward sort has mixed it with the best novices around this season. His key piece of form came at Cheltenham in December, when he set a fair pace before making Mister Fisher fight to win by a length and a quarter.

That rival is now fancied for the Arkle and Marsh Chase, yet Good Boy Bobby finished close to him and pulled 15 lengths clear of Beakstown while carrying 5lb more than anything else in the race.
