Gordon Elliott says Envoi Allen could make a late switch from the Ballymore to the Sky Bet Supreme Novices' Hurdle and his regular work-rider Keith Donoghue does not believe the shorter trip would inconvenience him at all. In fact, he is convinced Envoi Allen would win the Unibet Champion Hurdle on Tuesday were he running in it.

Envoi Allen has been a warm order for the Ballymore all winter, but the unbeaten six-year-old was available at 5-2 on Betfair Exchange at 5pm on Friday evening after Elliott revealed he will walk the course on Sunday morning before making a final decision on which contest his star novice will tackle. He was trading at 5-1 for the Supreme.

Although Envoi Allen is regarded as a future Cheltenham Gold Cup contender and won his most recent Grade 1 over 2m4f at Naas, Donoghue says a speed test in the Supreme would not provide any problems.

Donoghue said on Friday: "I rode him out this morning, as I do every morning, and he's never been in better form. He feels absolutely amazing.

"People are worried if he drops down to two miles but I wouldn't be one bit concerned if he ran in the Supreme. He has loads of speed. He's deceptively quick because he only does what he has to.

"Six of his seven wins have been over two miles. He'd love it. I genuinely think that if he were running in the Champion Hurdle on Tuesday he'd win it. He's that good."

Donoghue also provided an update on Tiger Roll, the legendary dual Grand National winner who is seeking a fifth festival success in the Glenfarclas Cross Country Chase on Wednesday.

He said: "Tiger Roll worked in the same group as Envoi Allen this morning so Lisa [O'Neill] was on him instead of me. She pulled up afterwards and we started chatting and she could not believe how good he felt. She said he was absolutely bouncing so that's a great sign. I cannot wait to ride him again. He's the reason I'm still riding and if he wins again on Thursday it would be absolutely unbelievable."

Tiger Roll is a general evens favourite with French challenger Easysland, recently bought by JP McManus, next best in the market at 3-1. Might Bite, the former RSA winner and Gold Cup runner-up, is a best price 12-1 with William Hill and Betfred.
