Minding out to become first filly to win since 1987

Minding goes against colts for the first time today in the Qipco Irish Champion Stakes

Minding, a Group 1 winner from seven furlongs to a mile and a half, has already enjoyed a huge season, winning two Classics and bringing her haul of top-level victories to six when landing the Nassau Stakes at Goodwood in July.

Third behind Almanzor and Found in a monstrously competitive renewal of the Irish Champion Stakes last month, she is one of two fillies in the line-up for today's Queen Elizabeth II Stakes, a race no filly has won since Milligram scored under Pat Eddery in 1987.

While Minding has proved her adaptability in terms of ground, she has shown herself to be particularly effective with cut, and conditions today should be perfect for the 1,000 Guineas and Oaks winner.
