Brown Advisory entries suffer and Lulamba in the Supreme as more major Cheltenham Festival contenders revealed

Entries for the Cheltenham Festival's five Grade 1 novice races and Triumph Hurdle were released on Tuesday with star names Sir Gino, Lulamba, The New Lion and Salvator Mundi among them.

Sir Gino heads 25 in the Arkle alongside main market rivals Majborough, L'Eau Du Sud and Inthepocket, although entries are only up one on last year  despite the dropping of the Grade 1 Turners Novices' Chase, which has been replaced by a handicap.

Ballyburn, Impaire Et Passe, Ile Atlantique and The Jukebox Man are among runners entered in the Arkle that also feature among 32 in the Brown Advisory Novices' Chase. Total entries in that contest are down six from 38 last year and down from the previous low of 34 in 2023.

Supreme Novices' Hurdle favourite Salvator Mundi appears to be an all but confirmed runner in the Cheltenham Festival opener as it was the only race he was entered in. He is one of 22 entries for Willie Mullins, who is responsible for over a third of the initial field.

Triumph Hurdle favourite Lulamba also featured among the entries for the SupremeCredit: Edward Whitaker

Lulamba, who was cut to 6-4 for the Triumph Hurdle after an easy win at Ascot on Saturday, was also among the Supreme line-up. Trainer Nicky Henderson said that race was a "possibility" on Tuesday but he was also among 54 in the Triumph.

The British-trained Grade 1-winning pair The New Lion and Potters Charm remain on track for the Turners Novices' Hurdle but were also given the option of the Supreme while Romeo Coolio also featured in both.

Sixty-two were entered in the Albert Bartlett including The Yellow Clay, The Big Westerner and Jet Blue, although all three are also among the 79 in the Turners. Final Demand, a 15-length winner at Limerick over Christmas, features in the Supreme, Turners and Albert Bartlett.
