Dundee-based owner Jimmy Fyffe, 53, tells Catherine Macrae about his start in racing, the horse who changed everything and his flying recent success, which appears far from over this season . . .


My interest in racing started with my grandparents, who were punters. They liked to have a small bet on a Saturday and my dad followed in their footsteps. It wasn't long before my brother and I started taking a liking to racing too.

Eventually, I got into a syndicate of 20-30 people with a horse called Golden Fields. He was low grade and it was just for a bit of fun, as at that time I couldn't afford a horse myself.
