'We're the laughing stock of world racing' - David Simcock on crowds returning
Hollie Doyle and Callum Shepherd also feature in our expert panel
Which two-year-old winner over the weekend impressed you most with an eye to the future?
Hollie Doyle, jockey Method really impressed me at Newbury on Saturday. I rode Mighty Gurkha, who I rate highly, and for Method to pull clear the way he did under hands and heels was impressive.
Niall McCullagh, jockey Laws Of Indices might have won the Railway Stakes at 66-1 but it didn’t come as a huge surprise to me, having ridden him in all his work in the spring. I only wish I wasn’t injured and could have ridden him on Saturday. It wasn’t a vintage running of the race but I was impressed by how he hit the line. He’s a smart horse who I’ve always liked.
Conor Murphy, Paddy Power Fly Miss Helen shows plenty at home given the support for her in the market, but what she did at Newbury was very impressive. She showed plenty of gears getting to the front and looks as if she’ll improve for an extra furlong or two also.
