Sandown hosted the Tolworth Novices' Hurdle on Saturday, a race won last year by Constitution Hill. This year the race went to the Paul Nicholls-trained Tahmuras, who made it three wins from three over hurdles, recording a career-best Racing Post Rating of 144 with more improvement likely.

L’Astroboy in second also achieved a career-best RPR of 137, which was a big step up on the level of his debut win. Third-placed Nemean Lion (136) is progressing with each run over hurdles.

With two other hurdle races over two miles on the card, we can use the times of the three races to help produce a rating.
