The much-travelled Gerald Mosse on the best horses he has ridden

SAUMAREZ
My Arc winner in 1990 was so very special for me. He was a lovely horse, a big-striding horse who came from the UK to Nicolas Clement. I got a lovely run behind the pace in the Arc so it was quite straightforward and he just kept galloping. Obviously the Arc is one of the biggest races in the world, but as a young man you don't appreciate it properly; you don't know what it means. As you get more mature, you can appreciate it more but it's one of my best memories.
