'With Stoute and Swinburn there was a certain magic' - the inside story of one of racing's great relationships
Think of one and you will often think of the other.
For anyone who enjoyed racing through the 1980s, Sir Michael Stoute and Walter Swinburn will always be remembered as one of the sport's great partnerships.
It is a measure of their combined impact that if you asked racing fans to name one jockey associated with Stoute, the most popular answer would surely be Swinburn. Ryan Moore has been connected to the legendary trainer for longer than any other rider, while Kieren Fallon enjoyed tremendous success on turf luminaries such as North Light, Kris Kin and Russian Rhythm, but in the public's mind it is Swinburn we most closely identify as Stoute's jockey.
