Just as Greater London has the M25, Dublin has its very own orbital motorway, carefully designed, on paper at least, to relieve the dreadful traffic congestion in the city. Unsurprisingly, it doesn’t always work as planned, and traffic jams can often be twice as bad as those on its British counterpart. This may provide a clue as to why it was named the M50 in the first place.
