John O'Hara gets the lowdown from the Herefordshire trainer
The Herefordshire stables of Tom Lacey have got off to a cracking start to the jumps season with 15 winners on the board and, crucially, well over six figures already banked in winnings for his owners.
Glory And Fortune’s win in Saturday’s Welsh Champion Hurdle at Ffos Las was the biggest of those victories, and Lacey says: “Numerically we need to be among the winners, but prize-money is the most important consideration.
“We have a few less in than last year, but I am happy with the string we have. There are established stars like Tea Clipper, who advertised his novice chase status in Listed company at Chepstow this month, while Adrimel is another we’re excited about when the ground eases. We have a lot of nice novices.
