The epic trainers' title battle between Willie Mullins and Gordon Elliott may have dominated headlines in the Irish training ranks last season, but Henry de Bromhead enjoyed a season he won't forget in a hurry.

He didn't just top his previous seasonal best – he trounced it. In a campaign that started with the disappointment of the Potts family removing their string from the Knockeen, County Waterford trainer, he ended his season with 68 winners, 19 more victories than ever before.

Although losing subsequent triple-Gold Cup hero Sizing John and Cheltenham Festival winner Supasundae among a host of quality performers must have hurt, De Bromhead was briefly depleted but never defeated.
