A yard brimming with quality is the reason Emma Lavelle is optimistic about having another fine season, which will be spearheaded by her champion stayer Paisley Park.
“Although Paisley Park lost his Cheltenham crown last term he still had a good season, winning a Grade 1 at Ascot after a huge run at Newbury,” Lavelle says. “In retrospect he was a little ring rusty by the time he arrived at the festival in March having missed his intended prep race.
“I have been thrilled with him in the build-up to this season and he starts back at Wetherby on Saturday. How he runs there will tell us if we stick to top staying hurdles or go novice chasing, for which he has schooled very well.”
