'The Cheltenham Festival will be the main aim again - and he could even go straight there'
Conor Fennelly talks to the Gold Cup-winning trainer about his plans for the new season

Since joining the top table when Espoir D'Allen landed the Champion Hurdle in 2019, Gavin Cromwell's Danestown stable has made unrelenting progress and last season he enjoyed his biggest success yet when Inothewayurthinkin lowered Galopin Des Champs's colours in the Cheltenham Gold Cup.
Stumptown becoming the first Irish horse to win the Velka Pardubicka last month was another huge winner to add to an ever-evolving CV, which includes eight Cheltenham Festival victories, two Royal Ascot winners and ten Grade 1s in total.
Cromwell's early-season raids in Britain have become a big feature of his campaigning, the latest of which was Ballysax Hank's successful journey to Market Rasen for the Summer Plate in July before finishing second in the American Grand National. He's saddled 20 winners in Britain in the last two seasons and is set to send a formidable team to Cheltenham this month for the Paddy Power Gold Cup meeting.
