Venetia Williams talks to Lewis Porteous about her select squad

Last season marked the fourth consecutive year that Venetia Williams earned more than £1 million in prize-money on the racecourse. To finish seventh in the British trainers' championship was a mighty result considering her string was smaller than the nine others that featured in the top ten.
The highlights on the track included Royale Pagaille winning the Grade 1 Betfair Chase for the second season running, Djelo landing two Grade 2 chases and L'Homme Presse adding to his big-race tally in the Cotswold Chase.
"With the number of horses we have, it's great to feature among much bigger-equipped stables," says Williams, who is entering her 30th season with a training licence. "I like the look of the team we have and have been pleased with how the first few work mornings have gone."
