'He's the big hope' - Hugo Palmer on his top team for 2025 plus Michael Owen's horses to follow
The top trainer talks Jonathan Harding through big-race hopes at home and abroad

In his fourth year at Manor House Stables, Hugo Palmer is hoping to build on a successful 2024 with a strong team of three-year-olds, including his Betfred 2,000 Guineas contender Seagulls Eleven.
The Classic-winning trainer, who landed the Chester Cup in May and two juvenile Group races in the autumn, has a well-balanced squad that also features potential Melbourne Cup contender Roaring Legend.
"I've never really wanted to set too many targets for fear of being disappointed but I always aim for each season to be better than the last, in terms of the number of winners and prize-money, and the one thing I'd desperately like to tick off is a first Group 1 success from Manor House," says Palmer. "We've been second and third in a few since I moved here in 2022 and it would be a great thing to achieve.
