On the back of his strongest season numerically, Karl Burke is full of the joys of spring as he eyes up major races at home and abroad with a staggering array of talent.
Burke, who recorded a personal-best 134 British winners last term to go with total prize-money in excess of £5 million (including internationally), has assembled the quality capable of upholding his Middleham yard's position as one of the most powerful around.
"We started this year with 33 horses rated over 100, which is an amazing number," he says. "We're strong with the three-year-olds and older horses, but they're all going to race against other good horses and might not be standouts in their races."
