Won his three point-to-points in the spring despite some hairy jumping on occasions; I’m not sure what the form amounted to but he was visually impressive. He's done masses of schooling at Ditcheat and I was thrilled with his jumping at Wincanton last month, but I wasn’t thrilled with the way he ran, as he stopped so quickly it was puzzling. We did tests and found his blood was wrong, so we’re working on that and you can put a line through the performance.

We thought he’d win on his first outing for us in a bumper but he ran much too free. And he didn’t perform much better over hurdles next time, failing to reproduce what he’d been showing me at home. He finally displayed the ability we know he possesses at Taunton last week, staying on well in third, and he should win soon provided he continues to settle better.

Big, backward individual out of a sister to Denman and is going to need time. He’ll probably have a run in a bumper and we’ll be in no rush with him.
