There's an element of persecution complex in the psychological make-up of most gamblers but, as the old saying goes, just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean they’re not out to get you.

On all known knowns, Pakistan should have been good things to beat a struggling Sri Lanka side in October’s Test series in the UAE.

But the Lankans pulled off a shock 2-0 win and this week a story in The Times of India, based on quotes from victorious captain Dinesh Chandimal, was headlined: “Witchcraft helped us win against Pakistan”.
