Sizzling Skelton setting hot pace through early season

Summer jumping has consistently grown in stature in recent years, to the extent where many of the top stables – more commonly associated with Kempton on Boxing Day – have changed tack to field teams through the summertime.

One trainer who has certainly embraced the summer season is Cheltenham Festival winner Dan Skelton, who has forsaken a summer break to go for winners, and he has had plenty of them since the new jumps season started on April 30.

Skelton had a phenomenal May, saddling 25 winners to put him miles clear of the pack in terms of winners and prize-money earned, and he continues to hit the target as the height of the summer season approaches.
