What’s your best bet of the meeting?

Enfjaar in the Wolferton Stakes on Tuesday and it's not even close. I don't care who's in against him. It's no longer a handicap and no winners of a Group 1 or 2 since last August can run so it's almost as if the contest was invented for Enfjaar. I loved his reappearance in the Brigadier Gerard. Against a pair of proper Group 1 performers in Almaqam and Ombudsman, he was nursed into the race and beaten only a length and a half for third. He wasn't knocked about by Jim Crowley and I have no doubt the Wolferton has been his early-season target for ages. Not only did Shadwell take the race last year with Israr, but Roger Varian has a terrific recent record in it having sent out Royal Champion (2023) and Mountain Angel (2020) to win it in the last five years.

The Queen Anne looks a cracker – where’s your money going? 

I came away from the Lockinge thinking Lead Artist would never beat Dancing Gemini again and, while Rosallion and Notable Speech might come on fitness-wise, they still have a fair bit of ground to make up on Roger Teal's terrific colt. He reminds me so much of Charyn last year, coming into the race at the top of his game with others having question marks hanging over them. Is 11-2 not outrageous value? 

Can anything beat Field Of Gold in the St James’s Palace?

No. He's the best horse in training right now. I have a feeling he won't be beaten again and evens is some price. Would you rather back him at evens or Zarigana at evens for the Coronation Stakes? It's a no-brainer, surely.
