There is nothing better to beat the January blues than a trip to the races, so wrap up warm and head out to the track for your fill of fresh air and fantastic sport.
You'll be spoilt for choice if you like top-class action with Ascot's Clarence House Chase and two fixtures at Cheltenham leading the way in Britain, while in Ireland there is Grade 1 action at Naas as well as the start of the Dublin Racing Festival on the last day of the month.

BERKSHIRE WINTER MILLION, WINDSOR & ASCOT: The three-day initiative is back for its second year with Ascot's Grade 1 Clarence House Chase card sandwiched between two days at Windsor, where the feature races are the Sovereign Hurdle on Friday and Fleur de Lys Chase on Sunday. January 16-18 (Tickets)
FESTIVAL TRIALS DAY, CHELTENHAM: The home of jump racing's last fixture before the festival in March features five Grade 2s, headed by the Cotswold Chase and International Hurdle. Saturday, January 24 (Tickets)

BALLYMORE NOVICE HURDLE, NAAS: The track's biggest meeting of the year with the staging of its only Grade 1 contest, which has been won by the likes of Envoi Allen and Bob Olinger. Sunday, January 4 (Tickets)
MOSCOW FLYER NOVICE HURDLE, PUNCHESTOWN: This Grade 2 named after the legendary chaser is the big draw with a Grade 3 novice chase the supporting act. Sunday, January 11 (Tickets)

January racing fixtures in Britain and Ireland
Bargain hunt: this month's best offers for racing tickets
* Racegoers who book in advance for a meeting at Catterick in January (8, 21 and 30) or February (9 and 24) will get a free ticket for the fixture on June 22 (one ticket per order). The track also has a £25 Horseshoe Package available for those meetings in advance, which includes admission, a racecard and the dish of the day from the Horseshoe cafe.
* A pass for all three days of the Winter Million festival at Windsor and Ascot is available for £40. That gets you admission to all enclosures at Windsor on January 16 and 18 and in the Queen Anne Enclosure at Ascot on January 17 – plus entertainment at each of the days.
* Lingfield is offering a multi-day pass to all nine of its Saturday fixtures in January and February, including the Winter Oaks on January 17, for £59, a saving of up to £139.

* The Go Racing in Yorkshire season ticket is back for 2026. For a cost of £475 for a single ticket and £795 for a joint one (two people living at the same address), you can get grandstand admission to all nine of the county's tracks, including at the Sky Bet Ebor festival and Doncaster’s St Leger meeting. Out of the ordinary: five eye-catching events
WINTER BEST DRESSED DAY: Naas will roll out the red carpet for its flagship Ballymore Novice Hurdle day with loads of entertainment to support the Grade 1 action on the track.

FRIDAY NIGHT LIVE: The first fixture in the new Friday night series aimed at those aged between 18 and 25 takes place at Wolverhampton, promising thrilling sport and high-energy nightlife.

MEDIEVAL DAY: On a day when the feature William Hill 1461 Chase commemorates the year of the Battle of Towton, there will be a living history encampment recreating life in medieval times.
