Most satisfying part of my job
The ability to offer my customers the best possible service, offers and prices are what motivate me. There’s always a great atmosphere in my shop when the major horseracing festivals, golf or football tournaments take place. We generate further interest in these events by offering in-store promotions to customers. I also offer my customers the chance to attend major sporting events which take place in Ireland. The positive feedback I receive from this is always pleasing to hear.
The large array of markets available to customers in horseracing, greyhound and football has been the most noticeable change. Customers now have the ability to bet without a short-priced favourite or even just simply bet on a horse to be placed in a race. In football they can combine markets to make the price more appealing. There has also been a large increase in customers calling into my shop requesting quick-picks for all of the lotto markets we offer, ranging from the 49s daily draw to weekly draws such as the international lottos.
Why I should be regional champion
The honour of representing not only my region but my country in such a prestigious event would mean so much to me. My vast knowledge and experience of the betting industry comes to the fore every day. My main emphasis, however, lies with customer service and my shop team and I treat all customers with equal importance. I also ensure that all new customers who enter my shop have a great experience in the hope they’ll return in the future. All of our offers and concessions are communicated clearly to the shop team and in turn promoted to all customers throughout the day.
