Whirl tops three-year-old filly rankings and matches Bluestocking as Arc looms on the horizon

The Pretty Polly Stakes provided an early opportunity to see the Classic generation take on their elders, with Oaks second Whirl clashing with Group 1 winner Kalpana. 

Kalpana came to challenge Whirl in the straight, but it was the three-year-old who kept finding under pressure to pull clear by a length and a quarter. It was a career-best performance by the winner, who ran to a Racing Post Rating of 119+, which puts her top of the three-year-old fillies this season.

Kalpana was below her best with an RPR of 116, but it was still a good performance and one which would have been good enough to win the race five times in the last decade.
