New trainer Stephen Thorne is excited about building on a blistering start to his career in 2025 after he landed his sixth success from his 45th runner on Friday, having taken out his licence in October.
A graduate of the Godolphin Flying Start programme in 2014, Thorne spent a year under the tutelage of Ralph Beckett and Mike de Kock before moving back to Ireland and had seven years as assistant to Ado McGuinness. In that time he founded the Shamrock Thoroughbreds, one of Ireland's most recognisable and successful syndicates, with four of the yard's first six wins coming in the green, white and gold colours of the operation.
