Shantaluze shines at Tinahely with the help of Black polish

Despite a relatively small number of runners at Tinahely on Sunday there was some lively action at this long-established venue, kicking off with a smart performance from Whisperinthebreeze in the four-year-old maiden.

The Hyde family always buys a nice type of horse and this Kayf Tara gelding out of a winning Silver Patriarch mare looks well worth the £44,000 paid by Tim Hyde at Doncaster in May last year.

Sporting Press, a Donnchadh Doyle-trained gelding who shaped promisingly at Oldcastle in the spring, was well supported and clearly expected to put his experience to good use, so it says a good deal for Whisperinthebreeze that he was able to beat a fancied opponent decisively.
