Rising star Michael O'Sullivan on fast track to success in professional ranks
Anyone paying attention to Irish jump racing lately will be well aware that Michael O'Sullivan is one of the rising stars of the sport.
Last Sunday week, Michael, whose roots are firmly in the point-to-point world, rode a brilliant race on Marine Nationale to record his first Grade 1 win in the Royal Bond Novice Hurdle, repaying the faith of trainer Barry Connell, who has been prepared to put him up in Graded races in which his claim can't be used.
On Sunday, he pulled another race out of the fire when getting Meetingofthewaters up on the line to win at Cork. This time it was pretty clear his 5lb claim made all the difference, and you would imagine he's going to pick up some choice rides in valuable handicaps as long as he has the allowance.
