Pointing stables strong at sales as Monbeg lead way

The sizeable influence of point-to-point owners and handlers in the market for young horses was evident last week at the first of this year’s store sales, with the Monbeg Stables team ending the day as top buyers.

After heading the list at the final store sale of 2017, the Doyle team were again out in force at the inaugural Tattersalls Ireland May Sale, where they picked up 13 horses for their 2019 team for a combined outlay of €328,500.

Their position at the top of the purchasers’ list at a store sale highlights the increasing impact of point-to-point buyers in the store market.
