Older horses have played their part in an exciting season

For the past couple of months the focus has been mainly on the four-year-old maidens, which have become such a fabulous source of top-class track performers in recent seasons.

The search for new stars is a never-ending process, and these maidens are basically a conveyor-belt to some of the top stables in Britain and Ireland.

But you cannot have a card made up only of maidens for younger horses and our open horses play a massive part throughout the season.
