New mum Lalor's victory puts her in sight of 45-year-old record

Liz Lalor won all the weekend headlines in the point-to-point world when she became just the third female rider to reach the 100-winner mark with success at Nenagh on Sunday.

Even more remarkably, she achieved her milestone on her first ride of the season, less than six weeks after giving birth to her daughter Alex.

The seven-time champion is one of the sport’s all-time greats, with a long list of accomplishments that stretches back to her first success at Clonmel on Roseboreen, just one day short of 16 years to the day before her career century was achieved.
