Limerick at Lemonfield: Posh Trish struts her stuff in style

Lemonfield had the honour of hosting the opening four-year-old mares’ maiden of the season, and it was the Shark Hanlon-trained Posh Trish who ran out a ready winner to record a debut success in the James Barry Motors & John O’Connell Feeds four-year-old mares’ maiden.

Scoring on a day when the trainer recorded a double at Leopardstown with Hidden Cyclone and Camlann, the highly regarded daughter of Stowaway, who carried the colours of owner Susan Archdeacon, jumped confidently at the head of affairs to return 14 lengths clear of Getaway Katie Mai having witnessed her nearest rival Colreevy come a cropper at the final fence while in the process of running a big race.

From the family of The Posh Paddy, a three-time track scorer, Shark Hanlon said of the winner: “She’s among the best mares I’ve trained. She was idling in front there and Richie [Harding] felt there was plenty left in the tank.”
