I grew up surrounded by horses and racing. We always had hunters and point-to-pointers around at home and I have memories from an early age of going to Navan and places like that when my grandfather David had a runner.

He would have been busy in the early 2000s when he had a horse called Schwartzhalle, who won the Flyingbolt Novices’ Chase. That was his heyday back then.

I started off on ponies with the Ward Union and I competed in a couple of pony races that were held after the point-to-points in Dowth Hall and Fairyhouse a couple of years ago.
