Fergus Gillard has retired from race-riding after partnering 93 winners, but has no intention of leaving the sport as he considers an opportunity to join a former weighing-room colleague.

The front-runner among his options is teaming up with ex-champion conditional rider Luca Morgan at his growing pre-training and point-to-point yard in Warwickshire.
