Impressive winner Rapid Escape leads old firm to new landmark

Jamie Codd and Gordon Elliott have built up a formidable partnership between the flags and they combined for their 50th point-to-point success together when Rapid Escape ran out an impressive ten-length winner of the Magee Family four-year-old maiden.

The son of Doyen, a €46,000 Land Rover Sales purchase, was sent off a well-supported odds-on favourite and showed a nice turn of foot to see off Henry’s Joy, who had been placed at Ballinaboola this month.

Peter Flood, representing the connections, said: “This lad is very good. He’s straightforward and high on the list at home as he’s a very good jumper.”
