Impressive four-year-old maiden winners worth following closely

There were a number of smart performances in four-year-old maidens at Portrush on Saturday and Tinahely on Sunday.

The opening maiden at Portrush was divided and in the first, Rob James set a steady gallop on the Donnchadh Doyle-trained Press Your Luck, who picked up experience in a couple of races last season. He showed plenty of speed and won well despite an error at the last.

The second division was run at a strong gallop and newcomer Ballyadam impressed with a stout staying performance to score under Stephen Connor, his first success since going north to team up with the powerful operation of Wilson Dennison and Colin McKeever.
