Loughanmore: cancelled its two-day meeting

There was understandably great disappointment when the two-day East Antrim point-to-point at Loughanmore, one of the highlights of the season in the northern region, was cancelled after the course failed a second inspection on Friday.

The Bank Holiday Monday card always attracts a big holiday crowd, and the loss of both days at the Templepatrick will have been a big loss to all involved.

Twenty four hours before the Loughanmore course failed its inspection on Thursday, it was announced the course would hold an additional fixture next month, with Mid Antrim being granted a second fixture for Saturday May 18.
