Honeysuckle continues the sweet smell of success for Irish pointing graduates

Honeysuckle added yet another chapter to her remarkable career on Sunday with her third consecutive victory in the Chanelle Pharma Irish Champion Hurdle.

The success further cemented her place in racing history when usurping the long-standing record of Bula by winning 14 successive races over hurdles, a winning streak that began after her successful debut at Dromahane in April 2018 when she won a four-year-old mares’ maiden for Banbridge trainer Gerry Cosgrave.

Her win was one of four at the top level for graduates of Irish pointing who won half of the Grade 1 races at the Dublin Racing Festival, including the feature races on both day’s after the Paddy Power Irish Gold Cup victory of Conflated.
